 Knotty is an exclusive introduction to shibari for couples and singles of Illuminaughty and will be led by the incredible Matt and Muse. Matt has been practicing rope for 17 years and has been educating and performing together with Muse for 2 1/2 years, including over 50 performances in Southern California in 2022. Their passion is educating and helping others to explore the world of rope.

 This three hour workshop will first cover the basics and safety of using rope as a tool and language to share intimacy and play with power and consent. Then we’ll dive into the technique of some simple knots and ties and have some time to practice.

 Each couple and single ticket will include an 8 meter length (26.5 ft) of high quality jute rope from CleanRopeCompany (Etsy) to use and keep to take home. Safety scissors are available to use for the workshop and may be purchased along with additional lengths of rope if you’d like.

Dress comfortably, but tight fitting clothing or underwear is recommended to enable free movement and enhance the sensation of rope against your skin. Wear your favorite yoga pants or shorts and tank top, sports bra,  lingerie, or go topless (please wear street clothes or an overcoat and change at the event if you plan to wear lingerie). Pants or panties (bottoms) are required.
